Course Goal:FIN 333. Introduction to Financial Management helps prepare you for understanding good financial decisionmaking for business firms.  See departmental course page for more specific topics.

Course description:The role of finance in the modern business organization with emphasis on the decision process.  See outline for more detail of the content.

Text:   Gitman, Principles of Managerial Finance Brief, 3rd Edition   Available from University Bookstore or other sources. (Note that oncampus sections are using a different text.)  The Wall Street Journal is recommended, but not required - see information on student subscriptions, which include access to The Wall Street Journal online.

Prerequisites:
ACC 231 are required as background for this course.
   In addition, you need:

  • convenient and reliable internet access
  • a personal email account, with the habit of checking email every day. 
  • adequate computer technology skills for using email and the world wide web
  • ability and desire to work in an independent learning format
