About the College
Officially established as a school in 1968 and currently one of seven colleges in the University, the College of Business enrolls about 2,500 majors from five academic departments. On April 29, 2002, the College officially became the Nelson Rusche College of Business. Business majors now account for about 22 percent of the university student population. Housed in the R. E. McGee Building, the College of Business enjoys up-to-date facilities including classrooms equipped for video presentations and computing laboratories. The McGee Computing Laboratory contains a wide range of microcomputing equipment and numerous terminals that provide communication access to the university academic mainframe and the Internet.
Accreditation
All business degree programs (BBA, MBA, and MPA) in the College of Business are accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The college was last visited by AACSB in the fall of 1998, with the result that the college's accreditation has been reaffirmed for another ten years. Accreditation means that all programs are high in quality, advance the college's stated mission, are continuously improved, and meet exacting standards in areas such as faculty qualifications, curriculum, admissions, and resources. Only about 29 percent of the business schools in the United States share this distinction.
